What's New
Every update to Cross-Realm Warlords, newest first. Android, Windows and the browser game all get each update the same day.
1.0.23 (30 Oct 2026)
- Enemies show sooner: enemy soldiers, buildings and bandit camps now appear once they're about half a screen from your units or buildings, instead of only when you're almost on top of them. Far away they stay hidden, on the minimap too.
- No more clouds over the battlefield, so nothing covers your army. The title screen keeps them.
- Notes by the resource bar: tips and alerts sit in a small wooden box beside or just under the resource bar (never over the fight), sized to their text, one at a time. Tips go after 4 seconds and alerts after 6, and a tap closes any of them at once. The tutorial's steps and Brin use the same wooden style at the top.
- One row under the small map: Menu, the unit tree (T), and online Chat and Mic.
- Groups: 1, 2 and +. Tap + to add another group (up to 9); soldiers you have picked go straight into it.
- Repair closes the panel once a peasant is on the way, and a free peasant goes before a busy one.
- No more surprise rally flags on phones: with a building picked, a tap on the ground just closes it. Use the Rally button over the building (or drag its flag) to move the flag.
- Quick Battle in Custom Battle: one enemy on a small map, both sides start with 4 Warriors, and the fighting starts within minutes.
- A smoother tutorial in one run: 23 short steps: your village, 3 Warriors, a Stable and your first rider, picking groups (5 Archers join your Warriors, ready-made), then the fight at the goblin camp.
- Build without waiting for materials: peasants never fetch materials: a building starts as soon as it is placed. Buildings you can't afford yet are greyed out, and the message says exactly what is missing. A building still going up can be cancelled for its full price back.
- Storage: you can store 100 rice and 100 water, plus 100 more of each for every House and Storehouse. The resource bar shows it ("250/300"); peasants stop gathering what is full.
- Peasants come quickly when you have few people (about 4 seconds) and slow down as your clan fills up (about 28 seconds near the limit). More Houses make them faster, up to 6 Houses.
- Smaller buttons and bars on phones, so more of the map shows.
- Fields show their farmers ("farmers 1/2"), so you can see which field needs more hands.
- Peasants you can't pay for stay picked: sending peasants into a Barracks without enough rice for all of them sends only those you can pay for, and says what is missing.
- Phone layout for thumbs: Army, Build and a new Idle button sit at the bottom left, with the "selected" note beside them. The group buttons show at the bottom middle while soldiers are picked (tap a soldier or Army), and a Cancel button beside Hold lets go of the army. Online, Chat and Mic sit under the battle buttons, and the open chat no longer covers the small map.
- Mission goals fold into one line at the top left showing the next goal ("Build a Barracks · 1/2"); tap it for the full list.
- Alerts come first: "Your base is under attack!" isn't covered by tips, a repeat attack doesn't flash it again, and the red ping on the small map lasts 8 seconds.
- Rally to a building: a small flag on that building's roof and a dotted line show where new units go, instead of a big banner in its doorway.
- Buildings stay solid when units walk behind them (trees still turn see-through), and a tap on a building picks it even with soldiers around it.
- Ruins fade away 20 seconds after a building falls.
- The training count ("x2") shows only while that building is picked.
- Long attacks stay together: attacking something far away (a camp or base across the map) makes your army march there in formation, fighting on the way, then attack it, instead of each soldier wandering off on his own.
- Maps: tap or drag on the small map to move the camera; the arrow button on its corner opens the big map. With soldiers picked, a tap on the big map sends them marching there.
- A simpler title screen: the name on one line with "BETA" and the version under it, and one row of buttons along the bottom (Custom Battle, Multiplayer), with Help and Settings as icons in the corner.
- Cleaner tutorial: every step is one short line ("(8/23): Tap Build, then House, then Build here."), a gold arrow shows every tap, Brin talks in one line in the same box, and the boxes sit in one column under the resource bar. Tap any note to close it.
- No Attack button: pick your soldiers (Army), then tap an enemy or its camp; a far one is reached in formation. Bottom right is now Cancel, Hold and Retreat, with War Horn and Heal above.
- Stables run themselves: a new Stable sends peasants to catch wild horses by itself (send more by tapping peasants, then the Stable). To make riders, pick soldiers and tap the Stable, or rally a Barracks to it. A picked Stable shows small icons (Rally, Repair, Destroy) instead of the bottom panel.
- Fairer computer players: they only attack what they have seen, and from about 1.5 minutes they send a scout around the map to find you.
1.0.22 (30 Oct 2026)
- Rice and water only. Wood and gold are gone: buildings, soldiers, peasants, heroes and upgrades cost rice and water, as in Battle Realms. Trees and gold stones stay on the map as scenery.
- Rice comes faster: fields ripen in 25 seconds instead of 45 and give more rice per harvest, and a farmer carries twice as much per trip.
- Rice fields in three sizes: small, medium and large. Bigger fields give more rice and fit more farmers. Every base starts next to a medium field.
- Farmers work inside the field instead of standing at its edge.
- Repairs are free: a peasant still puts out a fire with water, and the mending costs only time.
- "Your base is under attack!" now shows for every clan, including when a building is hit, with a red ping on the minimap.
- Easier taps on small screens: a tap near a soldier or peasant picks it, even when zoomed out.
- Broken buildings leave ruins that you can now see on the ground.
- Destroy a building: pick one of your buildings and tap Destroy twice (the first tap asks "Sure?"). A building still under construction gives its price back. Fields can't be destroyed.
- Simpler House: on phones, tapping a House shows only icons over it (Peasants on/off, Rally, and Repair when damaged), no panel. The paid "Peasant" button is gone: Houses raise peasants by themselves.
- Fairer clans: every clan now has about the same fighting strength for its price; they differ in how they fight. Goblins are fast and train quickly, Wildkin are tough but slow, Humans are steady and sturdy, and Shadow heal themselves out of a fight. In test battles of equal armies, every pair of clans wins about half the time. Berserkers and Gnolls are now an even match.
- Stronger units cost more: Lancers and Berserkers cost more than basic soldiers, and heroes cost the most (the Paladin and Champion above all).
- Progress bars in the game's own art style: a bar in the top bar shows the next peasant (tap it to see the House making it), with the ping next to it in online and Wi-Fi games.
- Idle count fixed: idle peasants who stroll about now count as idle too.
- Houses take turns: one House at a time makes a peasant, then the next House, round the village. Each peasant comes quicker to make up for it (6 seconds early on).
- Unit tree for every clan: the Units screen has a tab for Humans, Goblins, Wildkin and Shadow, and opens on your own clan (online too).
- Online: players need the same game version to play together (the rules changed).
- Lighter battles on phones: the battle is worked out 20 times a second instead of 30 (movement still glides smoothly between steps), which frees a third of the phone's time for drawing.
- Voice chat through Epic Online Services: each online or Wi-Fi room gets its own voice room, so you only hear the players in your game. No Epic account needed. Works on Android, iPhone and computers; open mic by default (tap Mic to mute). On a phone's first game, the game asks for the microphone before joining the voice room, so others hear you right away.
- Chat and Mic buttons now sit just under the small map.
- House icons close by themselves after 10 seconds untouched (on phones there was no other way to close them).
- Browser version: chat only, no voice.
- Smoother on phones: trees and bushes only sway near the screen; far away they wait. With a quiet battlefield, phones now reach 60 frames a second instead of about 30.
- Online battles stay in step: goblin camps grew differently on each phone, so the two battles slowly drifted apart (buildings missing on one side, attacks the other player never saw). Fixed.
- Lower ping online and on Wi-Fi: messages are now sent and received the moment they arrive, not once per drawn frame, so a busy battle no longer adds ping. On Android, Wi-Fi is kept in its low-latency mode during a network game.
- Armies march together. A group moves at the pace of its slowest soldier, so riders no longer run off ahead of the foot soldiers. Units ahead slow down, units behind catch up, and nobody stops and blocks the road. Catapults follow at the back. If the army is attacked on the way, everyone runs at full speed.
- Armies line up: fighters march in front, archers behind them, and healers and Catapults at the back.
- Hold holds: soldiers on Hold stay on their spot. They only fight enemies they can reach from there, and step back after. Enemy archers shooting from afar no longer pull them out.
- Smarter enemy attacks: the computer gathers its army before it attacks, instead of sending soldiers in one by one, and pulls back when the fight at the front turns against it.
- No more shoving on the march. Soldiers sent with a ground tap keep a gentle spacing instead of bumping each other where their paths meet.
- Control groups that keep your army:
- Soldiers stay in their group when they are retrained (a Warrior becoming a Lancer), get a horse at the Stable, or come out of a Tower.
- Groups are kept when you save and Continue.
- Five control groups instead of three, in one row with the Group (box pick) button at the front.
- Adding to a group: hold a group button that already has soldiers, then choose Add or Replace. On a keyboard, press Shift + number.
- Group camera: double-tap a group button to move the camera to the middle of that group.
- Pick all of a kind: double-tap (or hold) a soldier to pick every soldier of that kind on screen. Peasants still pick only those nearby.
- Double-tap in a crowd: the second tap can land on the soldier next to the first one, and it still counts.
- Group button lights up while that group is what you have picked, so you can tell it from a double-tap pick.
- How to Play teaches the three ways to pick an army, each saved as its own group:
- Group 1: double-tap a Warrior (the arrow shows which) to pick only the Warriors.
- Group 2: tap Group and drag a box across open ground over your soldiers.
- Group 3: tap Army to pick every soldier at once.
- Then you let go, tap 1 for the Warriors and 3 for everyone, and attack the camp with group 3.
- How to Play teaches rice, sheep and horses: rice from fields comes first, then sheep for quick rice; then you build a Stable, catch a wild horse and put a Warrior on horseback. The wood and gold lessons are gone.
- Big battles run faster: soldiers look for enemies only among the other sides, and the spacing between soldiers costs about a third less. A 400-soldier battle takes about half the work per game step.
- Clearer screen in battle:
- On phones, notes appear at the bottom instead of over the fight.
- Banners (powers, "New unit discovered!") sit under the top bar instead of in the middle of the screen.
- Rank-ups in a big fight are combined into one line ("5 soldiers ranked up") instead of one per soldier.
- Veterans keep their rank after coming out of a Tower.
- Smoother movement. Soldiers, animals, arrows and other shots now glide smoothly between the game's steps, so they no longer hop on fast phone screens.
1.0.21 (29 Oct 2026)
- New How to Play tutorial that matches the game: fewer steps, clearer arrows, and a small goblin camp at the end that 3 Warriors can win.
- Picking soldiers: double-tap to pick soldiers, then tap 1 to save them as a group.
- Rally button above a picked training building.
- Cleaner bottom panel: same-size action buttons, and the wood panels are slightly see-through.
- New loading picture.
1.0.20 (28 Oct 2026): the clan update
- Two new clans: Wildkin (forest gnomes and wild beasts) and Shadow (skeletons, imps, bats and serpents).
- Five heroes for every clan, raised at the new Hero Altar. Any hero makes nearby soldiers hit harder, and healer heroes heal.
- Siege Workshop builds Catapults; the Armory now only does upgrades.
- Clan traits: each clan fights its own way. For example, Humans are tougher and Goblins train faster.
- All 15 maps remade:
- Land reaches every edge, with forest borders and a pond by every base.
- Each map has its own landmark: a ridge, a crown with gold, a spine or lakes.
- Less water overall.
- Rice paddies with new art: water them, watch them grow, harvest, and they grow back.
- Fire and repair: burning buildings blaze. Tap Repair and a peasant brings water to put the fire out, then wood to mend it.
- Towers:
- They hit harder.
- They shoot farther with archers inside, and heal with monks inside.
- Only Towers shoot; the Castle no longer does.
- Healers heal 3 times, then rest. A blue bar shows their stamina.
- Phone controls:
- Drag a building to place it, with Build and Cancel beside it.
- Set a rally point with one tap, and double-tap another building to link it.
- Smarter fights: soldiers hit back on the way home and spread around their target.
- Army panel with unit pictures and counts, and a shield button for Stop/Hold.
- Faster start: Start Game is much faster (about 7 seconds down to 1.5 on phones).
- Later attacks: the first enemy attacks come later, at about 10 / 8 / 6 minutes on Easy / Medium / Hard.
- Walls and Gate were removed from the build menu.
- Old saves: saves from older versions can't be continued, because the maps changed.
1.0.19 (28 Oct 2026)
- Shorter opening: just the studio intro with a loading bar.
1.0.18 (28 Oct 2026)
- New slogan: Build Your Kingdom. Command the Realm.
- New Skirmish screen in three boxes: Your Clan, Enemies and World.
1.0.17 (28 Oct 2026)

1.0.16 (28 Oct 2026)
- Low-resource warnings are louder, and the music dips under them.
1.0.15 (28 Oct 2026)
- Behind the scenes: an update check, so very old versions are asked to update.
1.0.14 (28 Oct 2026)
- Campaign hidden until more missions are ready; How to Play is the way in.
